🍽️ Lingshan Herb Jelly

📍 Province: Guangxi 🏙️ City: Qinzhou
Introduction:
Plant jelly, sweet and cooling.
Detailed Introduction:
The Lingshan Herb Jelly is a traditional cooling sweet of Lingshan county in Qinzhou, Guangxi, made from plants and delicately sweet. Local mesona (fairy grass) is boiled, strained and cooled into a dark-green, translucent jelly, cut into strips or cubes and served with sugar water or honey. Smooth, bouncy and almost melting on the tongue, it carries a herbal fragrance, sweet but not cloying and wonderfully cooling. Humid Lingnan climate made herbal jelly an ancient summer cooler. Lingshan jelly is now sold fresh at street stalls and also as dried boxed product for travel. Served after meals or as a summer street snack, it is loved by young and old. Visitors to Qinzhou enjoy this sweet herbal jelly, tasting the plain Lingnan wisdom of using grass to clear heat.
