🍽️ Sanhe Rice Dumpling
Introduction:
Indica-rice skin dumpling with tofu pork.
Detailed Introduction:
Sanhe Rice Dumpling is a traditional snack of Sanhe Ancient Town in Feixi, Anhui. Indica rice flour is scalded and kneaded into a dough, wrapped around a filling of diced tofu, minced pork and scallion, pinched into a half-moon shape and deep-fried. The crust turns golden and crisp, while the inside stays soft and glutinous, the filling savory with a scallion aroma and a rich fried scent. By the shores of Lake Chao, the rice dumpling is both a breakfast and market-day snack for townspeople and a must-try for visitors to the waterside ancient town. Freshly fried, it is crisp outside and soft inside, best hot with a dip of chili sauce or a bowl of dried-shrimp soup to bring out its layers, and it has since reached the tables of food lovers beyond the town.
