Turpan
🍽️ Turpan Grapes
Introduction:
Seedless white grapes, very sweet.
Detailed Introduction:
Turpan Grapes are a famous product of Turpan in Xinjiang, lying below the Flaming Mountains with long sunshine, big day-night temperature swings and dry air ideal for sugar accumulation. The most famous variety is the seedless white grape: small, plump, thin-skinned, crisp and extremely sweet, tasting almost like honey fresh. Much of the crop is air-dried in shaded open adobe rooms (tuy) into raisins that keep their green color and sweetness. Summer scenes of locals resting under grape arbors are iconic. Each August-September the harvest brings a lively grape festival. Known for high sweetness and seedlessness, Turpan grapes represent Xinjiang fruit, reach the whole country as raisins, and are a calling card of the region's oasis agriculture.
