🍽️ Chengcun Oysters

📍 Province: Guangdong 🏙️ City: Yangjiang
Introduction:
Chengcun oysters, plump enough for raw or grilled.
Detailed Introduction:
Chengcun oysters come from Chengcun town in Yangxi County, Yangjiang, a famous oyster-growing region with a long history. Chengcun sits at the mouth of the Rudong River, where fresh and salt water mix, producing large oysters with white shells and fat, milky-white meat that is tender, crisp and sweet without any grit. Chengcun locals build a whole oyster banquet: charcoal-grilled oysters with garlic, oyster congee, fried oyster cakes, raw oysters and oyster hotpot all appear in turn. Winter and spring are the fattest season, and Yangjiang residents drive out to the Chengcun oyster strip to feast. Chengcun oysters are a national geographic-indication product and the core calling card of Yangjiang as China's oyster hometown, reflecting the unique flavor of oysters raised in the brackish coastal waters of western Guangdong.
