🍽️ Huidong Oysters

📍 Province: Guangdong 🏙️ City: Huizhou
Introduction:
Coastal plump oysters, great grilled, fried or braised.
Detailed Introduction:
Huidong oysters come from the coast of the Renping Peninsula in eastern Huizhou, where sheltered bays and balanced brackish water produce large, thick-shelled oysters with fat, juicy meat. Locals enjoy them many ways: the classic is half-shell charcoal grilling with minced garlic, the flesh tender and brimming with juice; baby-oyster omelets, oyster congee and batter-fried oysters are also common. When brought to the table still sizzling, the meat has absorbed the garlic and oil, sweet and free of fishiness. Summer nights at dai pai dongs along the Huidong coast are packed with diners eating grilled oysters over iced beer. It is not only a local everyday seafood but also a magnet drawing visitors from the whole Pearl River Delta, becoming a signature of Huizhou's coastal food tourism.
